1.  There are four times as many children (y) as adults (x) at the local 

ball game.  Write an equation that represents ALL the possible 

combinations.

     You can ride in large vans and small vans.  

     A small van holds 8 people and a large van holds 12 people.  

     There are 144 people in your class.

3.  Jumahl is shelving books for the library at the rate of 

    25 books per day. 

    At the end of the twelfth day, there are 475 books left 

    to be shelved.

     has left to catalog that corresponds to days.

4.  Danika bought a new car. After 10 weeks of driving, the odometer      read 3,500. After 15 weeks, it read 3,675.      Danika knows she drives about the same number of miles      each week.  Write an equation that models the odometer reading, as a function of the number of weeks she has owned the car.
